An ANA (antinuclear antibody) test with reflex and pattern is a blood test that helps diagnose autoimmune diseases and rheumatic disorders. It's often the first test performed when a patient is suspected of having an autoimmune disease.
The test is frequently positive with ANA, specific autoantibodies, complement proteins, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's syndrome, systemic sclerosis, polymyositis, anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome, and autoimmune thyroid disease
If positive more specific test are added.
Fasting not required.
