Description

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a common vaginal infection that can cause the following symptoms: 

  • Strong, fishy odor: This is the most common symptom and may be especially noticeable after sex. 
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge: This may be thin, watery, gray, white, or yellow in color. 
  • Itching or burning: This can occur in the genital area. 
  • Pain during urination or intercourse: This is less common. 
  • Vaginal redness or swelling: This is rare.
