Description

Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by a parasite that is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Symptoms include fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Symptoms can occur intermittently and may develop as early as 7 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito.

A blood film parasite smear, also known as a Giemsa stain, is a blood test that screens for and detects parasites in the blood. It's used to diagnose parasitic diseases like malaria, babesiosis, and filariasis.
