Description

The CCP IgG and IgA blood test measures cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies in the blood. These antibodies are often present in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and can provide valuable information for diagnosis and disease management.

Why the CCP Test Is Important

  • Diagnosing RA: Helps confirm or rule out rheumatoid arthritis in patients with joint pain or other symptoms.
  • Assessing Severity: High levels of CCP antibodies may indicate a more aggressive form of RA and help predict disease progression.
  • Differentiating RA: Helps distinguish RA from other types of inflammatory arthritis or connective tissue disorders.
