Description
The Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Urine Test detects the bacteria responsible for chlamydia and gonorrhea infections. These two infections are often tested together because they can have similar symptoms and it’s possible to have both infections simultaneously.
Preparation for the Test
- Do not urinate for at least one hour before the test.
- Female patients: Do not clean the vaginal area before providing the sample.
Sample Collection
- Collect a first-catch urine sample (the first 20–30 mL of urine) using a sterile container.
Fasting: Not required.
