Description

An egg white IgE test measures the level of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in your blood to help diagnose and characterize egg white allergies. The test can also help determine the likelihood of an allergic reaction and can be used to confirm sensitization before immunotherapy.

Egg white allergies are one of the most common food allergies in children, and egg whites are generally more allergenic than egg yolks. Symptoms of an egg allergy can include atopic dermatitis, hives, angioedema, vomiting, diarrhea, rhino conjunctivitis, and asthma.

Fasting not required.
