Description

Environmental Toxins Test — Comprehensive Chemical Exposure Assessment

Overview

An at-home urine test that quantifies exposure to a wide spectrum of environmental chemicals including plastics, industrial pollutants, pesticides, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The test uses advanced liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for high sensitivity and specificity.

What It Measures

This panel evaluates 38 urinary markers across several categories:

  • Industrial & Consumer Chemicals / Phenols & Plastics
  • Environmental phenols (e.g. BPA, 4-Nonylphenol, Triclosan)
  • Parabens (methylparaben, propylparaben, etc.)
  • Phthalate metabolites (e.g. MEHP, MEOHP, MEHHP)
  • Pesticide & Agricultural Chemical Exposure
  • Herbicides (e.g. 2,4-D, Atrazine, Glyphosate)
  • Organophosphate metabolites (e.g. DEP, DMP)
  • Pyrethroid and organochlorine derivatives (3PBA, DDA, etc.)
  • Volatile Organic Compounds & Other Chemical Toxins
  • VOC markers (e.g. benzene, xylene, acrylonitrile, 1,3-butadiene)
  • Other chemical exposures (e.g. acrylamide, perchlorate, diphenyl phosphate)

Who May Benefit

This test may be appropriate if you have:

  • Persistent fatigue, headaches, or neurological symptoms
  • Skin rashes, sensitivities, or unexplained irritation
  • Respiratory issues (wheezing, chronic cough)
  • Hormonal imbalances or reproductive health concerns
  • Frequent exposure to chemicals (in work, environment, or daily life)
  • Digestive discomfort or systemic inflammatory symptoms
  • Desire to assess toxic burden and support detox strategies

How It Works

  • Sample Type: First-morning urine
  • Collection: At-home collection using provided instructions
  • Pre-test Guidelines:
  • • No fasting required, but fasting 12–24 hours beforehand may help mobilize stored toxins.
  • • Avoid excessive hydration: no more than 8 oz of water in the hour before collection to prevent dilution.
  • • No special dietary or medication restrictions unless advised by your provider.
  • Processing & Turnaround: Samples shipped to a CLIA-certified laboratory; results typically ready in 7–10 business days.

Benefits & Use Cases

  • Diagnostic insight: Reveals hidden exposures to chemicals that may contribute to chronic disease
  • Personalized detox planning: Guides targeted detox, lifestyle, and removal strategies
  • Early detection: Identifies cumulative environmental toxin burden before symptoms worsen
  • Preventive health: Helps reduce long-term risk of toxin-associated conditions (e.g. autoimmune, neurological, endocrine)
