Description

In adults, growth hormone IGF-1 testing is primarily used to diagnose and monitor conditions related to abnormal growth hormone levels, including growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and excess growth hormone (acromegaly), by measuring the level of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) in the blood, which is a key indicator of the body's response to growth hormone; a low IGF-1 level can suggest GHD while a high level may indicate acromegaly.

Growth Hormone Test measures the level of Growth Hormone (GH or HGH) in the blood.

Growth Hormone is produced by the Pituitary Gland and is important for normal bone density and muscle mass. It is also involved in protein synthesis and glucose metabolism. It can also affect heart and kidney function.

Fasting recommended.
