Description

Assess your liver’s detox capacity and chemical exposure.

The Hepatic Detox Profile is a specialized urine test that measures D-glucaric acid and mercapturic acids—two key biomarkers that reflect how well your liver is functioning in its role of detoxification and elimination of harmful substances.

🔍 What’s Measured:

• D-Glucaric Acid

This marker reflects exposure to over 200 different environmental chemicals, including solvents, pesticides, and industrial toxins. Elevated levels suggest your body is working hard to neutralize chemical exposures—often silently accumulating over time.

• Mercapturic Acids

End products of Phase II liver detoxification, specifically glutathione conjugation. These acids reveal how effectively your liver is transforming and excreting toxic substances, pharmaceuticals, and metabolic waste.

Why It Matters:

  • Evaluates Phase I & II liver detox pathway activity
  • Screens for toxic burden from environmental chemicals or medications
  • Helps identify hidden contributors to fatigue, headaches, hormone imbalance, and chemical sensitivity
  • Supports decisions on detox plans, nutritional needs, or avoidance strategies
  • Useful in functional medicine, chronic illness, or preventative health programs

Sample Type: Urine

Fasting: Not required

Ideal For: Individuals with high toxin exposure, chronic fatigue, autoimmune issues, or those starting a detox protocol
