Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that:
- Adults: Everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care
- Pregnant people: All pregnant people get tested for HIV as early as possible in their pregnancy
- People at higher risk: People at higher risk for HIV get tested more often, such as annually
- Refugees: All refugees resettling in the United States get HIV screened
HIV-1/2 Antigen and Antibodies Test, a 4th generation test, is designed as an aid to diagnose HIV-1/HIV-2 infection including primary HIV1 infection.
