Description

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection caused by the bite of an infected blacklegged tick. It's most common in the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, and upper-Midwest regions of the United States. 

Symptoms 

  • A red, painless rash that may look like a bull's-eye
  • Fever, headache, fatigue, and tiredness
  • Stiff neck, muscle aches, and joint pain
  • Heart palpitations, an irregular heartbeat, or dizziness
  • Pain that comes and goes in your tendons, muscles, joints, and bones
  • Inflammation of the brain and spinal cord
  • Nerve pain
