Description

A targeted blood and urine test panel to assess long-term effects after COVID-19.

Overview:

Many individuals continue to experience health issues well after their initial recovery from COVID-19. Symptoms such as fatigue, joint pain, difficulty concentrating (“brain fog”), and persistent inflammation are common signs of post-viral complications. This panel offers a comprehensive look at your body’s systems, including inflammation, immune health, nutrient levels, thyroid function, organ performance, and more.

Included Biomarkers & What They Reveal:

CBC with NLR (Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio)

  • A complete blood count measures red and white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets.
  • NLR is a calculated ratio that provides insight into immune activation and systemic inflammation. Elevated NLR is often seen in long-COVID and chronic inflammatory states.

Sedimentation Rate (ESR)

  • A general marker of inflammation. It reflects how quickly red blood cells settle in a test tube — faster rates may indicate inflammation or immune activity.

Urinalysis with Reflex Microscopy

  • Detects abnormalities in kidney function, hydration, or urinary tract health.
  • Reflex microscopy is performed if initial screening shows abnormalities like protein, white blood cells, or blood in the urine.

Ferritin

  • Measures iron storage and is also an acute-phase reactant — meaning it can rise in response to inflammation.
  • Both low and high levels can be relevant in post-COVID fatigue, immune dysregulation, or chronic inflammation.

Metabolic Panel Markers:

These provide a snapshot of liver, kidney, electrolyte, and metabolic health:

  • Albumin – Main protein made by the liver; low levels can indicate poor liver function or inflammation.
  • Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) – Elevated levels can reflect liver, bone, or bile duct issues.
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) – Reflects acid-base balance in the body.
  • Bilirubin (Total) – A byproduct of red blood cell breakdown; elevated levels may indicate liver or gallbladder dysfunction.
  • BUN & Creatinine – Key markers of kidney function.
  • Calcium – Important for bone, nerve, and muscle function; can shift with inflammation or kidney issues.
  • Chloride & Potassium – Electrolytes that help regulate fluid balance, nerve conduction, and muscle function.
  • AST & ALT – Liver enzymes. Elevated levels may suggest liver stress, common in post-viral inflammation.
  • Total Protein – Includes albumin and globulins; gives insight into nutritional status and immune activity.
  • Glucose – Blood sugar level; useful for detecting stress-related or post-infection insulin resistance.

Calculated Values (from CMP):

  • A/G Ratio – Albumin-to-globulin ratio; used to assess liver and immune function balance.
  • BUN/Creatinine Ratio – Helps differentiate kidney issues from dehydration or other metabolic issues.
  • Calculated Globulin – A key protein group involved in immune response.

Thyroid Panel:

  • TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone), 3rd Gen – The main hormone that signals the thyroid to produce more thyroid hormones. Post-COVID can impact thyroid function (sometimes referred to as “thyroiditis”).
  • Free T4 (Thyroxine) – Represents the active form of thyroid hormone available for metabolism regulation. Helps evaluate thyroid disorders.

Nutrient & Inflammation Testing:

  • Vitamin B12 – Critical for energy production, nerve function, and red blood cell formation. Deficiency is linked to fatigue, numbness, and cognitive issues.
  • Vitamin D (25-OH) – Plays a vital role in immune function and inflammation control. Many individuals post-COVID show low levels.
  • C-Reactive Protein (CRP-hs) – A highly sensitive marker of low-grade inflammation. Elevated CRP is common in post-COVID inflammation and may signal cardiovascular or immune system stress.

Why This Panel Matters:

COVID-19 can disrupt multiple systems in the body — even after the acute infection resolves. This panel is designed to help detect:

✅ Ongoing inflammation

✅ Hidden organ stress

✅ Nutrient deficiencies

✅ Hormonal imbalances

✅ Immune system disruption

Early detection means earlier support and more targeted recovery strategies.

Ideal For:

  • Anyone recovering from COVID-19 or dealing with long COVID symptoms
  • Individuals experiencing fatigue, weakness, brain fog, or joint pain post-infection
  • Patients seeking a comprehensive wellness check after illness

Test Information:

  • Sample Type: Blood + urine
  • Fasting Required: No
