Description
A T3 uptake test, also known as a T3 resin uptake (T3RU) test, measures the amount of proteins in the blood that carry thyroid hormone. It's a blood test that helps assess thyroid function and can be recommended if you have signs of a Thyroid disorder:
- Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
- Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
- Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis (muscle weakness caused by high levels of thyroid hormone in the blood)
