Description
Advanced Gut Microbiome Testing
Your gut contains trillions of microorganisms that interact with digestion, nutrition, metabolism, and the intestinal environment. GutID Core Gut Insights (CGI) provides an in-depth look at the bacterial community living in your gastrointestinal tract.
Using advanced long-read sequencing technology, GutID CGI goes beyond basic microbiome testing to identify many bacteria at the species and strain level, providing a detailed picture of your individual gut microbiome.
What Does GutID CGI Evaluate?
GutID CGI provides information about:
- Gut bacterial composition
- Beneficial and potentially harmful bacteria
- Bacterial diversity, richness, and evenness
- Microbiome balance and resilience
- Species- and strain-level bacterial identification
- Patterns associated with digestive and intestinal health
- Gut barrier and mucosal-associated bacteria
- Bacteria involved in nutrient and dietary metabolism
- Bile acid-related microbial activity
- Antibiotic resistance patterns within the microbiome
- Personalized dietary insights
- Prebiotic and probiotic considerations
- Supplement recommendations based on microbiome findings
Advanced Long-Read Sequencing
Many traditional microbiome tests analyze only a small portion of bacterial genetic material.
GutID uses its Titan-1™ sequencing platform, which analyzes an extended bacterial ribosomal region spanning 16S–ITS–23S.
This longer genetic sequence can provide substantially greater bacterial resolution, allowing many microorganisms to be differentiated at the species and even strain level.
Who May Consider GutID CGI?
GutID CGI may be useful for individuals interested in obtaining a deeper understanding of their gut microbiome, including those experiencing:
- Bloating or excessive gas
- Irregular bowel habits
- Constipation or diarrhea
- IBS-type symptoms
- Suspected gut dysbiosis
- Food-related digestive concerns
- Recurrent digestive problems
- Previous antibiotic exposure
- Interest in improving gut microbial diversity
- Interest in personalized nutrition and gut health
It can also be useful for individuals who simply want a detailed assessment of their gut bacterial ecosystem.
GutID CGI vs. Traditional Stool Testing
GutID CGI is primarily a microbiome ecosystem test.
Rather than focusing only on a predetermined list of organisms, its sequencing technology provides a broader view of the bacterial community and its relative composition.
Traditional targeted stool tests may be more appropriate when the primary concern is a specific pathogen, H. pylori, intestinal inflammation, pancreatic function, parasites, or other conventional gastrointestinal biomarkers.
For some individuals, the two approaches may provide complementary information.
Simple At-Home Collection
GutID CGI requires a stool specimen that can be collected privately at home using the provided collection kit.
