Description

TgAb are antibodies that target thyroglobulin, a protein used by the thyroid to produce hormones. The presence of TgAb in the blood is a marker of autoimmune thyroid diseases, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or Graves’ disease.

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Receptor Antibodies (TRAb) Test

TRAb are autoantibodies that attack or interfere with the TSH receptor, which helps control thyroid hormone production. TRAb levels are primarily used to diagnose and monitor Graves' disease, an autoimmune condition that leads to hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid).

Why These Tests Matter:

  • Identify autoimmune thyroid conditions before symptoms worsen
  • Help distinguish between different types of thyroid disorders
  • Guide treatment plans for hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, or Graves' disease

Fasting not required.

These tests provide valuable insight into the root causes of thyroid dysfunction—especially when standard hormone levels appear normal.
