Description
This panel provides a deep dive into your health to provide a more complete picture of your overall wellness. It includes tests for heart health, kidney health, liver health, bone health, diabetes risk, and other health factors. This panel allows you to more deeply investigate coronary risk with information about testosterone and prostate health. This can be a springboard to further discussion with your healthcare provider regarding other non-laboratory screening indicated for your age group.
This panel includes the following test:
CBC Test | Complete Blood Count with Differential Test
- CBC Test or Complete Blood Count With Differential is a test used to measure blood abnormalities, it is one of the most common tests used to monitor overall health status.
- CBC measures certain blood cells such as Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, and Platelets and seeks to explain a variety of conditions and/or diseases such as Anemia, Leukemia, and infections -among others- and check symptoms such as fatigue, weakness or bruising.
CMP Test: Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
- CMP Test or Comprehensive Metabolic Panel Blood Test is an initial broad screening tool used to evaluate organ function and electrolyte balance, it also aids in the determination of certain conditions such as diabetes, liver disease and kidney disease or for monitoring treatments related to liver and kidney.
The CMP or Chem-14 includes tests for:
• Liver function (ALP, ALT, AST, Bilirubin)
• Kidney function (BUN, Creatinine)
• Electrolytes and fluid balance (Sodium, Potassium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride)
• Proteins (Albumin, Total Protein)
• Blood Sugar (Glucose)
• Calcium
Lipid Panel Test / Cholesterol Panel Test
- Lipid Panel Test measures fats and fatty substances which are used by your body as a source of energy. Lipids include cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Lipids are found in your blood and stored in tissues.
- High cholesterol usually has no signs or symptoms so the test helps in the evaluation of heart disease and also monitors existing conditions, genetic diseases and the effectiveness of certain treatments.
- Lipid Panel Test includes: low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, total cholesterol and triglycerides.
TSH Blood Test or Thyroid Function Blood Test measures the level of Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). The quantity of TSH has a direct impact on the levels of thyroid hormones causing either over-active thyroid or under-active thyroid regulating the thyroid gland is important because the thyroid produces several hormones which can stimulate or shut down certain processes in the body.
TSH Blood Test or Thyroid Function Blood Test helps detect hyperthyroidism whose symptoms may include: weight loss, rapid heart rate, nervousness, diarrhea, irregular menstrual periods and hypothyroidism whose symptoms are: weight gain, dry skin, constipation, tiredness, frequent menstrual periods.
The Hemoglobin A1C Blood Test estimates the average glucose (sugar levels) over the past 120 days, it is used to screen for diabetes and track progress in diabetics management, it is considered the gold standard for measuring blood sugar.
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has recommended testing twice a year for patients with stable blood sugar and quarterly for patients with poor blood sugar control. The test is recommended to diagnose Pre-Diabetes, type 1 Diabetes and type 2 Diabetes.
A B12 folate blood test measures the amount of vitamin B12 and folate in your blood to help identify deficiencies. Both vitamins are essential for the production of red blood cells, DNA, and RNA. A deficiency in either vitamin can lead to symptoms like fatigue, weakness, or anemia.
A luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) test can help diagnose fertility issues, sexual dysfunctions, and testicular tumors in men. A healthcare professional may recommend this test if a man has:
- Low sperm count
- Decreased sex drive
- Low muscle mass
- Been unable to get a partner pregnant after 12 months of trying
- Loss of muscle and/or body hair
- Symptoms of a pituitary or hypothalamic disorder, such as unexplained weight loss, fatigue, and weakness
PSA: Free and Total Test measures the level of Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) in the body.
Elevated levels of PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) have been associated with benign as well as malignant prostatic disorders. Studies indicate that in men 50 years or older measurement of PSA is useful in the detection of prostate cancer.
A test measures the amount of PSA in a blood sample to help screen for prostate cancer
A free T4 blood test measures the amount of thyroxine (T4) in your blood that is not attached to a protein. T4 is the main hormone produced by the thyroid gland, and a free T4 test is used to assess thyroid function.
Testosterone is a sex hormone that plays a vital role in the development and maintenance of male characteristics, as well as in other bodily processes.
The Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF-1) Blood Test measures the levels of IGF-1, a hormone that plays a crucial role in growth and development. IGF-1 is produced in the liver and is stimulated by growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. This test helps assess growth hormone function and can provide insights into various conditions, such as growth disorders in children and hormonal imbalances in adults.
A vitamin D 1,25 dihydroxy test, also known as a calcitriol test, measures the level of calcitriol in the blood. Calcitriol is the active form of vitamin D, which is essential for bone health, immune function, and overall well-being.
A total iron-binding capacity (TIBC) test measures the amount of iron your blood can carry and how well transferrin, an iron-binding protein.
Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) is a steroid hormone that is produced by the adrenal glands and is found in both men and women. DHEA-S is a building block for the production of estrogen and testosterone, the female and male sex hormones, respectively. Growth Hormone Test measures the level of Growth Hormone (GH or HGH) in the blood.
Growth Hormone is produced by the Pituitary Gland and is important for normal bone density and muscle mass. It is also involved in protein synthesis and glucose metabolism. It can also affect heart and kidney function.
Progesterone is a hormone that plays an important role in men's health, including:
- Sperm production: Progesterone helps with sperm function and is a precursor to testosterone, the male sex hormone
- Muscle mass: Progesterone helps maintain lean muscle mass
- Mood: Progesterone helps regulate mood and reduce stress levels
- Blood sugar: Progesterone helps regulate blood sugar
- Prostate health: Progesterone helps maintain a healthy prostate
- Counteracting estrogen: Progesterone helps counteract the effects of estrogen on the male body
Homocysteine is an amino acid that occurs naturally in the blood and is produced when the body breaks down methionine. It's a homologue of cysteine, differing by an additional methylene bridge.
HS-CRP or High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein test measures CRP Level in your blood. CRP is a protein that increases when there is inflammation in the body.
Because of its high sensitivity status, this test can detect even mildly high levels of CRP associated with Atherosclerosis (narrowing or inflammation of the arteries of your heart), which can lead to heart disease and high blood pressure.
A ferritin test measures the amount of ferritin in your blood, which is a protein that stores iron in your cells. The test can help your healthcare provider determine if your body has the right amount of iron to stay healthy.
Fasting recommended.
