Description
The varicella immunity test, also called the varicella-zoster virus (VZV) antibody test, checks your blood for antibodies to VZV.
Why the Test Is Important
- Determines if a person has immunity to varicella (chickenpox), either from a previous infection or vaccination.
- Helps guide decisions about vaccination or exposure precautions, especially for immunocompromised individuals, pregnant women, or healthcare workers.
