Description

The Hemoglobin A1C Blood Test estimates the average glucose (sugar levels) over the past 90 days. This test is used to screen for diabetes and track progress in diabetics management and is considered the gold standard for measuring blood sugar.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has recommended testing twice a year for patients with stable blood sugar and quarterly for patients with poor blood sugar control. The test is recommended to diagnose Pre-Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes.

Fasting not required.
